In Memory of John Arthur Wright: A Tribute to a Remarkable Colleague and Friend

 

 

We are profoundly saddened and shocked by the passing of our colleague and dear friend from our NY office - Whitney Partners, LLC, John Wright.

In remembrance of our colleague, John Arthur Wright, a statement from Gary Goldstein:

We are all deeply saddened and surprised by the passing of our colleague and dear friend John Wright.
 
John was a larger-than-life personality who lived life to the fullest. Maybe that was destined because at 6’ 8”, he definitely made his presence in any room. He had immeasurable charm, wit and smarts and was delightful company.
 
With his attention to detail and style, he was both a raconteur and rollicking fun. But at his core, he was both a classic gentleman and gentle soul. Having lived in many countries, he adapted to cultures, as he did to people, and could be counted on to find that interesting morsel of information about history, literature or a firm’s culture.
 
I had the privilege of being John’s partner for over the past decade. In that time, we forged not only many accomplishments across the globe but an enduring friendship.
 
John was a true one of a kind. He had big ideas, did big things, lived a big life and loved with a big heart. Maybe it was his big frame that gave him the perspective of a big world. But I do know that he loved to share it with his family and friends and we were all lucky to have known him. I will miss his infectious grin and his bigger than life personality that shined bright on all that knew him.
