Maximizing social and environmental impact from the Boardroom
Together with Hakluyt we have hosted a small, private, virtual gathering with friends and clients of the firm to discuss the topic of 'Maximizing social and environmental impact from the Boardroom'. This is a topic of strategic importance and will have outsize impact on corporate boards and shareholder decision making alike in the coming years.
The co-hosted event with Hakluyt & Company was thoughtprovoking and stimulating. The discussion centred on the importance and impact of S in ESG and offered valuable and practical insights from investors and corporations.
Vanina Farber, elea Chair for Social Innovation at IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland joined us for the discussion. Vanina is an economist and political scientist specialising in social innovation, sustainable finance and corporate social responsibility. She has broad experience working with academic institutions, MNCs and multi-lateral institutions to design optimal systems for managing and maximising social impact initiatives and attracting sustainable investment. This has given her a ringside seat in understanding the evolution and trajectory of key elements required for best corporate management practice, sustainable growth and providing conducive environments for investors.
The discussion took place on 7 October at 1900 CEST using the Zoom platform and we enjoyed a lively and engaging discussion. This was an event co-hosted by Schulthess Zimmermann & Jauch and Hakluyt & Co.: the firms regularly team up to host small, private Roundtable gatherings with friends and clients. Traditionally organized in the form of Dinner Roundtable meetings in London, Zurich, Munich and Frankfurt, we have successfully transitioned these gatherings to a virtual format as a result of Covid19.
