Virtual Roundtable
On the way to the new normal: insights from our Board Advisory and C-Level Practise
- Board Meetings: 50% more efficient
Most if not all Boards experience significantly more efficient Board Meetings when conducting these by videoconference; the efficiency gain is in reduced travel, but mainly in more direct and fact based discussions leading to robust decisions with much less time spent; and while there is some adaptation required, the majority of Board members are delighted by this development.
- Communication: shift of 95% of all communication to videoconferencing
Modern senior Leaders conduct most if not all of their communication (internally and externally) by videoconference and profit from a much higher degree of face time with clients and staff. Videocalls also compensate for and potentially improve on personal contact in comparison to staged location visits by senior Leaders.
- Virtual Roundtable: efficient, convenient and valuable conduit to congregate multidisciplinary audience to discuss relevant themes. The virtual setting doesn’t impose location restrictions for participants and is more time efficient while still providing the value of confidentiality. Guests included Business Leaders, Politicians and Executive Office holders who shared and discussed initial learnings from the crisis and criteria and measures to mitigate a way out of the crisis.
All of these developments provide opportunities not only for the time being but will be seriously considered for longer-term reality – as part of the new normal.
