Internationale Beziehungen - Dinner-Roundtable mit Hakluyt

Together with Hakluyt – a leading strategic intelligence firm - we were hosting small dinners in Munich and Zurich for a few friends on the subject of China, economic challenges and external relationships. Relations between China and the US are more fractious than they’ve been for decades. President Trump is trying not only to redress the trade imbalance but also seeking to get China to set aside policies which China has been committed to for many years. Beijing has been trying to improve economic and political relations with the EU (notably Germany), South Korea and Japan, who all have anxieties about Trump’s overseas policies, but who share many of the US’s concerns about China’s approach to foreign investment and trade. Understanding how the bilateral relationship between China and the US will develop is critical to businesses with global commercial interests, as is a clear appreciation of the evolving economic landscape in China. The aim of our dinner is to share some insights drawn from from Hakluyt’s work in both the US and in Asia and enjoy a thought-provoking discussion in convivial company. Richard Margolis - the company’s senior adviser in China and Mark Hanson – Senior Partner and Bureau Chief at Hakluyt Tokyo – have joined us on this occasion.
